We were both spoon-fed with LEGO® in the 70s and 80s (sigh). Following our dark ages, our interest in LEGO was revived over the Christmas Break in 1995 when we got our old LEGO from the attic, all of it from the peak of LEGO set design (we are mostly into train and town), and built a city. For a number of years since then we bought as much LEGO as we could
afford, still hoping that the "classic" style LEGO sets would
return. Eleven years after we got hooked on LEGO again, we filled about 20 tubs full with LEGO and moved them to relatives for storage, admittedly mostly due to lack of space and time. We have started buying DUPLO for our kids but nothing for ourselves yet. Judging from current set designs I think the worst is over but there haven't been any sets yet that convinced us to indulge. Once our kids are older and we have more space and time (and money), we will probably head for the attic and pick up our hobby again :-). Dirk and Martine |
